 Musical star Kerry Ellis, who played wicked witch Elphaba in the West End musical Wicked, hung up her broomstick yesterday after two years as the show's lead and is now house-hunting in Hertfordshire. Kerry, originally from Harleston in Suffolk, has her sights on the town of Hitchin, near Stevenage, with a budget of about £400,000.
'Now is a great time to take advantage of the market and you get a lot more for your money there than in London,' she says.
She now lives with her PR boyfriend, James Townsend, in a £220,000 two-bedroom new-built house in the same area.
'We want somewhere bigger and with more character,' she says. 'I don't have any immediate plans for children but you have to think about the future.'

 Is it more nerve-wracking than doing a musical?
It's terrifying, because I've never done anything that's just me on stage. This is me, here I am, and this is what I want to do. So there's no one else to take any blame! I just hope people accept it and enjoy what I do.
You were the first British actress to star as Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch Of The West, in Wicked, and the first person to play her in the West End and on Broadway...
Yes, that was a real honour - and what a joy! It's an amazing show and it's still going strong. To be taken to Broadway with it was just a dream come true. Wicked has changed my life, really - it's boosted my recognition and has taken me to another place.

Hey guys,
I thought I'd ask you, as the visitors of this site, would you be interested in some sort of press archive on this site? Meaning that every interview with Kerry would be archived somewhere in a new section of the site.

Win signed painting and support TheatreMAD

 No doubt a few tears were shed by the legions of devoted fans who were at the Apollo Victoria to see the last performance by Kerry Ellis in the role of Elphaba in the West End's smash hit production of Wicked. But don't despair, you could own an exclusive piece of Wicked.
In a typically generous gesture, Kerry has donated an original oil painting of her as Elphaba, to TheatreMAD in aid of The Make A Difference Trust. The painting will be raffled by the charity and the lucky winner will have the painting presented to them by Kerry and personally signed by her at the presentation.
Kerry said: "As always, I am pleased to be able to support TheatreMAD and hope I can help to raise lots of money for this great charity."

As a side note, I can inform you that this painting has been hanging in Kerry's dressing room while she was in Wicked :) Thanks to David for sending me an email about this, I forgot to post about it.

Well, well, well... The site turns two years old today, can you believe it? :D And amazingly enough, it also hit the 100,000th unique visitor milestone yesterday! Wow, I personally can't believe it, I think it's rather fantastic, to be quite honest lol :)
Since I don't have time to organize it before I go on holiday, I have decided to postpone the birthday contest a little while, until I get back home, obviously :P Same goes for the new layout, I will see if I can get it up when I get back, so hopefully that will happen soon-ish.
I hope you have enjoyed the site as much as I have running it for the past 2 years. It's still somewhat of a work in progress, but I think it's slowly getting better and better :) Thank you all for your help and contributions, it's always much appreciated <3 xx
